Service Fees

I am an approved provider for Indigenous Services Canada’s Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) which is a national program that provides eligible First Nations and Inuit with coverage for a range of medically necessary health benefits; this includes access to Mental Health Services.

To be eligible for NIHB Program benefits, a client must be a Canadian resident and registered or eligible to be registered under a provincial or territorial health insurance plan and have the following status:

• a First Nations person who is registered under the Indian Act (commonly referred to as a "Indian status"); or

• Inuk recognized by an Inuit Land Claim organizations; or

• an infant less than 18 months old whose parent is a registered First Nations person or a recognized Inuk; and

• Not otherwise covered under a separate agreement (e.g. a self-government agreement such as the Nisga'a and Nunatsiavut agreements) with federal, provincial or territorial governments.

• If you are eligible for NIHB, direct billing will be completed on your behalf and you will not have any out of pocket expenses for services.

• Fees for cancellations and “no shows” are not covered by NIHB, will need your credit card on file in order to book appointments.

• Many health benefit plans cover mental health counselling with a Registered Psychotherapist.  I recommend checking with your benefit provider prior to scheduling an appointment.

• If you do not have coverage, the $191.25/hour fee can be claimed as a medical expense on your income tax.
