Specialized Services

Individual Psychotherapy & Specialized Youth Support

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, or major life transitions, Oakes Psychotherapy offers personalized, one-on-one therapy—in-person or virtually. With 29+ years of experience, Wennietanoron also specializes in supporting children, preteens, teens, and families through crisis, behavioral challenges, and emotional growth.

Trauma-Informed Therapy & EMDR

Healing trauma requires safety, skill, and care. Using EMDR and trauma-conscious methods, clients work through unresolved pain and rewire emotional responses. This approach supports nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and post-traumatic growth—empowering clients to heal without reliving the trauma.

Somatic Therapy & Body-Centered Healing

The body remembers what the mind can’t always express. Somatic therapy uses movement, body awareness, mindfulness, and the Trauma-Conscious Yoga Method (TCYM) to help clients release held tension and reconnect with their physical and emotional selves. Ideal for chronic stress, trauma, and nervous system dysregulation.

Evidence-Based Therapies & Mindfulness Practices

We blend practical and insight-driven methods to support whole-person healing:

  • CBT: Shift negative thinking and behavior patterns

  • ACT: Embrace emotions and align actions with values

  • DBT: Improve emotional regulation and relationship skills

  • Narrative Therapy: Re-author personal stories with empowerment

  • Mindfulness & Compassionate Inquiry: Deepen awareness, foster healing, and access inner truth through presence and curiosity

Play Therapy for Children

Children need safe ways to express big feelings. Play therapy offers a developmentally appropriate path for emotional processing, behavior change, and social skill building. Through art, play, and interaction, children learn to cope, communicate, and grow—naturally and safely.

Culturally Sensitive, LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy & Life Transitions

My practice honors identity, culture, and community. We provide affirming care for LGBTQ+ clients and culturally grounded support for Indigenous and racialized individuals. We also help clients navigate grief, identity shifts, relationship challenges, and career transitions with clarity and compassion.

Clinical Supervision for Therapists

Great therapists need support, too. Wennietanoron offers experienced, trauma-informed supervision for new and seasoned clinicians alike. This safe, reflective space encourages professional growth, case consultation, ethical exploration, and skill development. Build your confidence and deepen your clinical insight.

Workshops, Presentations & Professional Consultation
